12/27/18: Modified Validation Rules for Requesting Agencies

Requesting agencies now have all patient-contact-related dispositions require signatures and narratives. Validation rule 830 edited. If you are now seeing this error popup, please check that crew members, patients, and/or hospital staff have signed the PCR appropriately for the disposition that indicated patient contact was made in some way.

12/26/18: Added "Staff Assessing" to mLAPSS/LAMS and helper text to Incident Panel

Two changes were made that were requested at the latest ePCR Workgroup meeting on 12/20/18:

  • Added "Staff Assessing" to the top of the Vital panel under the stroke mLAPSS/LAMS panel, matching field from normal Vitals panels
  • Added the same helper text from the Identification panel for homeless/refused addresses onto the Response >> Incident panel for ease of documentation hints

11/8/18: Removed "Lights and No Sirens" from dropdown in Response Descriptors (eResponse.24) on Response tab.

This change was made at the request of providers in the ePCR Workgroup. After review of policies from provider agencies, this change was approve and implemented, then tested with limited posting of training PCRs. Providers who select "Emergency" as the Response Mode will see the Response Descriptors list limited to the 6 appropriate options for multi-select, rather than the 7 before this change which necessitated a dropdown list instead of buttons.

Fix: We have inactivated a visibility rule that hides the eArrest.16 (the time CPR discontinued field). That should make it so that the time field is visible in every instance. Users were reporting issues with validation related to cardiac arrest calls where this field was not showing when it was required.

10/23/18: Added "11) 2018 REDACTED PHI-COMPLIANT PCR" to Print Form options

Per request at the ePCR Workgroup Meeting 10/22/18, REMSA staff made another redacted version that maintains identifiable information of the patient but removes CQI-only fields.

10/17/18: CARES and eArrest Fields Reconciliation, Part 1

REMSA Staff made the following changes:

  • Modified options of eArrest.18 to match CARES 33
    • Turned off extra values that do not translate to CARES 33
      • ROSC in Field,
      • Ongoing Resuscitation by Other EMS,
      • ROSC in ED
  • Added helper text on Cardiac Arrest panel that matches CARES helper text: “Ongoing Resuscitation in ED: Patient care transferred to ED staff, with ED outcome unknown to EMS personnel. This includes patients with sustained ROSC who are receiving supportive care at the hospital.” Also replaced the existing helper text on the CARES panel with this language, as the prior text noted the values we removed and was no longer relevant.
  • Modified options of CARES 31/itArrest.012:
    • From:
      • No,
      • Yes, but pulseless at end of EMS care, and
      • Yes, pulse at end of EMS care
    • For consistency, we now have:
      • No
      • Yes, but pulseless at end of EMS care (or ED arrival)
      • Yes, pulse at end of EMS care (or ED arrival)

10/11/18: 10) Redacted Patient Care Report added to Elite as a print option

REMSA added a redacted version of the current 2018 PCR for agencies requesting this. It has had PHI removed, including attachments, waveform graphics, employment data, closest relative, and direct patient fields such as name and DOB.

10/10/18: ImageTrend Elite System Update

ImageTrend released update 1.18.10.0 to our site, which added some features and fixed several bugs. A full version of the update notes can be found here (must be logged-in to Elite to view), otherwise a summary of the specific items that may be of particular interest to Riverside County EMS System providers is listed below.

Additions:

  • The Incident List view now keeps the search criteria entered when moving between records, unless you use the browser's Back button. Please use ImageTrend navigation buttons to take advantage of this.
  • EMS / Fire: Added several fire-only fields as column, criteria and filter options for the EMS / Fire Incident List. Additionally, several existing columns, filters, and criteria now include fire incidents. This update also renamed "Shift" to "EMS Shift" and "Notified Date / Time" to "Dispatch Notified Date/ Time. "

Fixes:

  • Incident List Views were generating errors for some users upon loading; this has been resolved
  • The intermittent error CQI users were experiencing upon loading CQI Reports and CQI Reviews has been resolved

10/01/18: Report Writer Database Changeover

Based on performance issues the Riverside County EMS stakeholders and REMSA staff were experiencing, ImageTrend moved our Report Writer data warehouse to another server that would provide it with more resources. This changeover was successfully done by 1:30pm, with performance significantly improved afterwards.
