9/13/18: REMSIS System Changes from ePCR Workgroup Meeting 9/13/18

Riverside County EMS Agency Staff (REMSA) have added the following functionality/updates/fixes of note to our Riverside County EMS Information System (REMSIS):

  • Added a timestamp to the Vital Stroke Exam grid on mLAPSS panel at the top to match the other vitals grids
  • Removed "Cincinnati" as an option for stroke scale in vitals
  • Removed "Stroke Scale Speech" from mLAPSS/LAMS Stroke Exam grid (still accessible if needed in main vitals grids)
  • Defaulted the Stroke Scale Type on the Stroke Exam grid to "mLAPSS"

9/12/18: REMSIS System Change from ePCR Workgroup Meeting 8/30/18

Riverside County EMS Agency Staff (REMSA) have added the following functionality/updates/fixes of note to our Riverside County EMS Information System (REMSIS):

  • All patient Disposition Definitions have been moved from the Incident panel to the Disposition>>Disposition panel. This request came from the 8/30/18 ePCR Workgroup committee meeting as it should make scrolling easier for crews on the main Incident panel. Definitions of dispositions were re-created on the Disposition>>Disposition panel, then the ones on the Incident panel were inactivated to give users time to feedback on the change.

9/11/18: Elite System Update to 1.18.08.0

ImageTrend added the following functionality/updates/fixes of note to our REMSIS (Full release notes here, must login to Elite):

  • A "Retry" button has been added to the Incident Save Progress window if an attachment did not successfully post. Elite Field also will now automatically attempt to post attachments a second time if they fail to post. The "Retry" button will show up after the automatic second retry fails.
  • A "Sync All Repeat Patients" button will now appear in the Settings menu of the Elite Field Dashboard if your agency has offline syncing enabled for repeat patients. This will help repair the offline database of repeat patients for users that may have had issues due to incomplete offline syncs (high volume of repeat patients in the set period may contribute to issues).
  • Fix: Incident List Views - certain incident list views were generating an error for users when loading records.
  • Fix: Incidents with attachments - Incidents with attachments that failed to post were displaying the Posted icon on the Elite Field Dashboard.
  • Fix: Dashboard Helpful Hints - these were disabled at the system level but were still showing on all agencies.
  • Fix: CQI Categories - Users were seeing an error in a CQI Category list if the view included the Primary Impression column as a criterion.
  • Fix: CQI Reports - Subsequent pages of CQI reports were not displaying in the View More EMS CQI Reports modal.
  • Fix: CQI Reports - CQI reports and attachments were loading very slowly and are now slightly faster.

9/10/18: REMSIS System Changes - including several from ePCR Workgroup Meeting 8/30/18

Riverside County EMS Agency Staff (REMSA) have added the following functionality/updates/fixes of note to our Riverside County EMS Information System (REMSIS):

  • Stroke documentation changes:
    • The mLAPSS panel has been renamed to "mLAPSS/LAMS"
    • A Stroke Exam vitals panel has been added to the mLAPSS/LAMS panel, with an auto-calculating LAMS score once the physical stroke exam is completed by field providers
      • the fields that are used to calculate the LAMS have had values added to the buttons as text for ease of use (we may modify the appearance further for better accessibility)
    • Stroke exam questions that were made redundant on the mLAPSS/LAMS panel were removed with the addition of the Stroke Exam sub-panel(#6 on the mLAPSS/LAMS panel)
    • mLAPSS "Non conclusive" changed to "Inconclusive"
    • "Not values" were removed from mLAPSS score, as providers would prefer to use "Inconclusive"
    • Los Angeles is the default stroke scale type, but the field is still editable by field providers
  • The TXA worksheet has been deactivated
  • The default PDF of the PCR, 1)PATIENT CARE REPORT - 2018, has been updated to include the stroke vitals fields that were moved to the mLAPSS/LAMS panel
  • The default CQI Form of the PCR, PATIENT CARE REPORT - 2018, has been updated to include the stroke vitals fields that were moved to the mLAPSS/LAMS panel

8/27/18: Validation Rule Change for "Patient Care Report - 2018" to remove the requirement to input the TXA armband identifier, as this has moved from trial study to optional scope.

8/14/18: Changes to the system CQI form "Patient Care Report - 2018" to match print report for normal PCR. Fields were not on the PCR when it was copied from the 2018 PCR.

8/10/18: Changes to the PCR - mLAPSS Fix from Cincinnati Stroke Screen Type

The default Stroke Scale Type was still in the PCR as Cincinnati stroke scale, which is not the current scale used for stroke screening. The default selection has been changed to mLAPSS, with the prior value of Los Angeles being renamed as such for clarity for crews. This has been changed in two places: Incident >> Vital Signs, and Patient >> Assessment >> Vital Signs. Please feedback to the Riverside County EMS Agency if you encounter any issues related to this or other updates.

7/24/18: Changes to the PCR (including EPCR Workgroup feedback inclusions)

Country now editable: The country field in the incident address was Read-Only, however this was causing some issues for providers with turnarounds outside the county, therefore we have made it editable. It will still default to United States, however you are now able to edit the field if it is overwritten by a CAD value or a blank value.

Signatures: Patient not signing due to distress - this has been amended to allow edits to the reason for signing and the signature status. Work is currently in progress to modify refusal signatures as well, and this document will be updated once that is live.

Assessment on Print PCR: Assessments were not showing consistently, so the grids were modified to force physical exams to show on the print PCR.

Favorite Postal Codes: We have made this feature editable by Agency Administrators. This allows individual agencies to add more postal codes that are not already in the master list of favorite postal codes.

7/16/18: EPCR Switch to 2018 Format, dispositions, and reduced primary impressions

The ePCR layout moved to the 2018 PCR form effective July 16, 2018 at 1300. See detailed information and the original announcement here.  The form has the modified disposition choices and the updated/significantly reduced Provider Impression lists (for both primary and secondary impressions). You will also note the mLAPSS/LAMS integration capabilities in a panel.

The form became the default choice for all providers as of the date/time above, after the next successful sync. Note the visibility rules change - to open items based on questions answered (instead of closing them). Also changed is the ability to turn validation rules on/off - this function is defaulted to on, but to enable a more efficient posting, crews can toggle the rules off, post quickly, and then finish a report in Elite (based on agency workflows).

Upcoming 8/27/18: Users with expired credentials will be automatically restricted from accessing the Elite platform. Please see this announcement for more details.

Thanks,

-REMSA EPCR System Administration Staff
